Monitronics’ Hero: A Good Call

Proving just how valuable a monitoring system is, Monitronics proudly reported about a good call made by one of their Emergency Dispatcher Operator, Ricardo Villareal.

Villareal was on his second shift one Sunday afternoon when he received an alarm prompt coming from a customer’s house in Tampa. He immediately called the customer on her mobile to notify her about the alarm, but she assured him that her brother was watching over her place while she was out and said that calling the fire department wouldn’t be necessary. Villareal respectfully complied.

Curious, the customer called her brother and found out that he had been sitting outside. Upon checking the bedroom, a lit candle had apparently toppled over and the bed and wall were already on fire. The brother immediately called for help and the fire department soon arrived.

The next day, the customer called Monitronics looking for Villareal and commented, “I want to make sure the nice young man that called me about the fire alarm knows he helped us save my home and I’m very thankful.”
